How ILYSB Changed My Life | Thanks LANY, ILYSB!

Ain't never felt this way
Can't get enough so stay with me
It's not like we got big plans
Let's drive around town holding hands

This song gives a feeling of people being on the passenger seat beside the person who knocks off their feet.

I love road trips and what drives me crazy is my penchant for long drives and music that sets my soul on fire. Every time I go on journeys, music has always had a huge part of a good drive being your skin touched by sun rays with your best guy on the side holding your left hand then kiss it after a while.
Actually, whether it be long drives or just some errands to do, it's who you're with that makes the trip special and good music is a bonus.

I had a sudden breakdown after my ex person and I broke up. We had something special, we do. The way he drove and the way he looked me in my eyes, the way he kissed my hand while he drove his automobile was something I always feel nostalgic about. I guess the longest drive we had was on my 23rd birthday. It was fun. Windows down, sunkissed skin, cold breeze, messy hair and just us. It was perfect. It was filled with music while we're on our way to a theme park nearby.

Why did Paul even compose this song? Jeez! It was really nostalgic. Brings back a lot of memoirs, good ones indeed.

Oh, my heart hurts so good
I love you, babe, so bad, so bad

The song wants its listeners/audience to have the glimpse of being so in love with your partner and just enjoy the presence of each other while the person is driving and you beside him/her goofin' around and just telling how madly in love you are and how sincerely affectionate you are as days go by. It's not so much to ask for but the song never fails to give that "ugh" feeling, that "I'm so in love with you no matter what" feeling and that "I hope this trip goes on with you and me alone" feeling.

No matter how bad my day starts whenever I listen to this song, (without sugarcoating it) I become okay already. Maybe because of the beat? rhythm? lyrics? vocalist? background vocals? keys? guitar? Nope. It's the personality of the whole music that landed a trademark in the hearts of LANY's fans. Never have I imagined that a music such as this will strike my heart and pamper it after a whole day of work. It's like being in love to a lover I don't see nor touch. It's giving you the feeling of being in love even though you're not even in a relationship.
The effects of the song are the reason why I always have my earpiece with me (sorry colleagues but Paul, Les and Jake got me hooked onto their music (not sorry)).

Mad cool in all my clothes
Mad warm when you get close to me
Slow dance these summer nights

The excitement whenever you're going to be collected from your house by the LOML (love of my life) and he opens the car door for you and a smooch then have the best welcoming hug from each other's arms or just chillin' at home with the girlfriend wearing his man's shirt complimented by the scent of his perfume that makes you fall into sleep fast. Am I being too romantic or you also felt the same way after listening to the song? I don't know why the song has that particular feeling whereby you can't get enough of each other and then ending the day with an "I love you." and still miss each other so bad.

And you need to know
That I'm hella obsessed with your face, your face

Have you felt that "you complete me" feeling? The right kind of obsession where you can't get rid of each other  and you feel like his/her scent from his/her shirt has that special powers to remove your tiredness away. That after he turned off the car engine, you are both at the back of the car eating your favourite food and just talk about life and how fortunate you both are for having each other, supporting and caring and be each other's best of friends. The kind of caprice one cannot take away. The kind of gift one values because it's too fragile for everyone to have. The kind of laughter, grin, mood swings, imperfections, the thousand reasons that some people search in the world their whole lives but it was found in you. These are just some of the reasons why I love the song. It is flowing of love. It is an out pour of an intense emotion of love and that a promise of never-letting go exists.

Whether it be the normal rendition or the stripped version of the song, it helped me arise from the realms of pain. It gave me relief from grief and that things, although quite upsetting, will always turn out to be fine if you fall and grow in love. This song makes me see the beauty of being in a long trip, enjoying it, devouring the hours of being in love with the person driving (friend or someone you are mutually connected to). This is savouring every meaningful lyric that opens up about hope, beauty and faith of being loved back badly.

This song paved the way for me to appreciate the process of healing and become fearless of falling/growing in love again. Thank you LANY! Thank you Paul Klein, you're my man and kudos to Les and Jake, you are all the bomb! I love you so bad!

Always,
Jhara
xoxo
